- Lee Van Orsdel convened the meeting. Minutes of the meetings of January 24 and February 28 were distributed.
- Arne Almquist updated members on the HarpWeek project. He is composing a letter for the Brown Foundation in Louisville. The foundation normally funds projects for private colleges, so Arne has invited them to join with us in the funding request and in the purchase of HarpWeek. He will get in touch with Gary Cox of AIKCU to explore their interest. Arne confirmed that Northern Kentucky University is willing to act as SAALCK's agent in administering the grant, should we receive it. HarpWeek, meantime, has agreed to no maintenance for 5 years, after which they have agreed to bill the participating institutions separately.
- Discussion turned to continuing efforts to persuade KYVL to act as fiscal agent for SAALCK for additional database purchases. There was concern that Miko Pattie had once again needed to cancel her appointment to meet with SAALCK on this date. The group felt it was important to express our concern to Miko and wanted to ask Mike Binder to send a letter on our behalf. The letter was to indicate our willingness to come to Frankfort to meet, should that suit Miko's schedule better. Mike Binder arrived as the discussion was wrapping up and suggested instead that the VLAC representatives from SAALCK meet with Miko the next day at the VLAC meeting to arrange a meeting in Frankfort. Mike's suggestion was accepted.
- Mike conducted the election of new SAALCK officers for 2002-03. Arne Almquist was elected Vice-chair, Chair-elect. As such, he will be the VLAC representative during the same period. Lee Van Orsdel was confirmed as Chair for 2002-03, and she will be the other SAALCK representative to VLAC.
- There were no particular issues for the SAALCK representatives to take to VLAC on Friday, so the meeting adjourned.
